Aug. 23rd, 2004 10:20 pmThe universe seems to be against me seeing Cori for some reason! THE WORLD IS A HORRIBLE PLACE. Especially school! Though if all goes according to plan, I'll be home on Wednesday... *HOPES*
More complete update, now I'm home from Sydney. As you all can see, the Stairs Of Doom(tm) did not kill me. Sunday was spent in China Town- we went to a Yum Cha restaurant called Nine Dragons for brunch, and then Rohan took me to a cheap Japanese dvd shop where I proceeded to spend another $140 to get the TB movie, the first three discs of DNAngel and the first three discs of Prince of Tennis.
They gave me a VIP card for spending over 100 dollars in one hit. *snerk*
Anyhoo, after that Rohan and I wandered over to Paddy's market, where Rohan picked up his asian-style dressing gown from this chinese clothes shop and we found the rest of the family in a different (more female-oriented) chinese clothes shop. Mum bought a mandarin-style top, and then I reminded her that she'd promised me when I was 12 that I could have a chinese dress when I turned 16, and guess what? I'm 17 and I have no chinese dress! (Because she said I had to lose weight when I was 16. *sulk*)
So yes, she bought me a full length pale blue mandarin-style dress, which apparently I can wear to my graduation dinner.
Had a good time in Sydney, but GODDAMN. I missed Cori by like, HALF AN HOUR. AAAAAAAAARGH. *headdesk*
Back to school today, obviously, and the homework was blatantly undone due to Sydney trip. Spent maths looking shifty. *grin* We had the first half of the english in-class essay today, and I'm dreading going back to finish it- it was SUCH a crock of shit. I'm going to have to hope my bullshitting skills will pull me through, because I have no structure and weak points. Point, perhaps, stretched beyond its limit to points.
Amusing quote for the day came when I was fretting about the essay and Saz said sarcastically, "Oh dear, that means you'll get an A instead of an A!"
Then we got our (different) essays back from the AST, and I looked at the front page and went, "OMG I FORGOT AN APOSTROPHE KILL ME!"
And Mari said, "Now you're going to get an A instead of an A. Alas!"
My friends are so mean, in a bizarrely nice way. Oo;
... moving on. Was watching TeniPuri after school today and am now thinking in japlish, which is damn disconcerting. How the hell is an anime about tennis so damn entertaining? IT MAKES NO SENSE. Weird. And it's frigging funny, how old the 13 and 14 year olds look compared to Ryoma. It's like, Ryoma looks his age, right? 12. Or maybe 14. But then the second years look 18, and the third years look 25. XD Tezuka looks older than X!Subaru! *cackle*
Speaking of Japanese-type stuff- Yellow! Have 15 pages scanlated from the fifth act (second of manga 2), so W00T. *smug smug*
I'm going to see if I can sneak in some more TeniPuri on grounds that I have a Japanese listening test on Thursday. It may or may not work, depending on how attached Mum is to the Olympics at this precise moment...
