Aug. 2nd, 2007 10:23 amOoooooh argh I'm stiff and sleepy. *yawn*
Things:
* I got my orthotics yesterday. They're supposed to take a while to get used to, but walking actually feels better already.
* Back, hips, calves = world of pain. Secondary pain in neck and shoulder. Curse you, frail human body! One day, in the space age, I will either get myself a prosthetic body or find a way to transplant my mind into a virtual environment where I NEED no body. Rar. (Most of the time I don't mean this. When I'm in lots of pain, however, I begin to think WOULDN'T IT BE NICE NOT TO BE MADE OF MUSCLES AND SINEWS.)
* I watched Torchwood on Tuesday/Wednesday, speaking of prosthetic bodies. (No, I don't want to be upgraded, thanks all the same.) My broad and non-spoilery response is: TERRIBLE pacing problems, mostly with the overarching plot and character interactions but a little with the episode plot in 1x13, and yet still very fun. I love all the characters, even though I frequently want to smack them. (Actually, I don't think Tosh has made me want to smack her. But the others, yes. Even Jack.)
* Mum let me actually drive her car home from the shopping centre yesterday, with her and Marie in it. I need to get used to her car, and also to shopping centre carparks, but it didn't go too badly. Her car is a lot smoother than the Proton, but it's very sensitive when you're moving off so I found myself gunning it every time I stopped and started. I got better at that by the end of the drive, at least.
* ... *caves and eats a crunchola bar* Am stuck in an IP seminar and was starving. Sue me!
* On a final note, I have photos of my dwelling. Some time, when I can be bothered and am on my PC (I'm bored enough to be bothered now, but don't have access), I may upload them.
