Aug. 21st, 2004 05:52 pmGREETINGS ALL. I am updating from Sydney- probably the only chance I will get to do so, as I am staying with my brother and he has no internet and we're going home tomorrow. Am currently at my sister's new house, which is really nice except for the impossibly steep stairs. I went up them, and I couldn't come DOWN- I have a fear of heights, and the gradient is like. Well, I don't know off-hand, but oh-god-STEEP. I didn't think you even got them that steep, they're practically vertical!
Though I braved them a second time to use the net. I'm dreading going down; last time I had to sit down and go stair-by-stair.
Anyhoo, saw Othello last night. SO. COOL. And after the infamous Iago/Cassio scene, my brother was like "Okay, NOW I know why you wanted to see this," at which I pointed out I have to do an essay on Monday. Apparently he didn't know I was studying it. *snigger* But yeah, the actors were SO good. And the setting was really ambiguous and no frills- the stage was mostly bare and the costumes were modern. They also had things like torches and cigarettes. They did it SO well, though- a lot of it came down to the acting and the use of space, and the basicness enhanced it.
Whichever way, TODAY is my grand triumph.
I went to Kinokuniya; I spent $100.
Yes, you read that correctly. I got TB 1 & 2 and Dreamsaga 1 in English, and then I got Duklyon 1 & 2 and Yellow 1, 2 & 3 in Japanese. THEN I rang up Liz to squeal at her about Yellow. XD
Whichever way, successful venture! My good mood was such that I submitted myself to treatment as a barbie doll for a few hours by my mother and sister. Then I got tired and sat down in the last few shops we visited, but Ceilidh was so impressed that she'd got me to go shopping for even a few hours that I don't think she minded. Mum was a bit miffed that I gave up before she had found something to buy me, but meh. I bought Ceilidh her birthday present, too. (Two rings.)
We're going out tonight for Ceilidh's birthday (which is on Tuesday), but I should be on for a bit longer- and I've got MSN- so that's cool. And I'll be home tomorrow, anyway.
ETA: Also I started Promethea. And now I have to go, braving the Stairs Of Doom on my way, so farewell and pray for me that I do not break my neck. See you all tomorrow!

Date: 2004-08-22 01:43 am (UTC)Rohan teased me all weekend, too. Still! WORTH IT.
Btw, note to us: we need to have conversation about Promethea and it's concepts.
