*looks at the time*

oh wow. I am so filled with dumb. curse you, fma fic! this is all your fault. *weeps*

things of note from today:

linguistics = completely pwned. got full marks on the quiz, an 'excellent' on the tut problem and was the only one from my tut who understand the current subject matter.

enough gloating.

have new sunglasses. question mother's eagerness to buy things for me. she's like, buy yourself sunglasses. I point out that I don't feel rich enough to go around whimsically buying crap, and... she's buys them for me. whatev, not complaining as get new sunglasses.

boots shopping not so successful. (easter present. yes, I get a present for easter. don't ask.) am v. fussy. went through 4 shoe shops- nothing. went much like this:

"too pointy. heels too high. leather too stiff. too uncomfortable. looks like SCHOOL SHOES. too pointy. ugly. no. no. no. uncomfortable. doesn't fit. too... ugbooty. how about these?"
"NO SUEDE."
"feh, fine. ew, too man-ish. in fact most of these are. why don't I just get doc martins?"
"... they're even more male!"
"they must be one or the other! I expect my shoes to be either masculine or feminine, none of this in-between quasi-masculine shit!"
"... how about these?"
"hm, maybe. *pause* I thought you said no suede."
"now I'm desperate."
"... bugger, none in my size."

so yes. hah. I'm very frustrating to buy for.

would relate lunch time adventure but am too tired. bed for me!

I needed ankle boots for uni, apparently. Meaning they have to be comfortable AND stylish. A deadly combination for me, because the only shoes I ever like are the kind you so couldn't walk a whole day in, unless they're like... sneakers, in which case I tip over to the male side of the scale. *has men's sneakers which she is very fond of* XD

My mum is a FASHION FREAK so certain things have to go with certain other things and apparently I have clothes that don't go with any shoes I can walk in. Or something. I don't think she likes my hiking boots very much.

Suede boots are awesome. Let no one say otherwise.

They don't withstand rain! :O

Me: ... why are you bringing COMMON SENSE into this? >(

They do if you Scotchgard them!

My mother's ideas are strange. I am going to make another attempt for the suede boots. Failing that, doc martins.

Attempt the suede. Tell her that you can spray them with stuff to make them water-resistant. I did it to mine and have since worn them in the rain and they're fine.

Though Doc Martens are always good too.

I said that. And she was like, "yes but you have to spray them multiple times before it works properly. AND YOU'RE TOO LAZY."

Although if she gets desperate enough she probably won't care. >D

It is SPRAYING. It's not like it's difficult or time-consuming. Just spray!

Desperation always helpful, though.

*shrug* Sense and my mother are at times magnetic opposites. They repel each other.

Sense and parents in general do that, I think.

*dies* I believe now is a good time to mention that they were to be ankle-length and comfortable enough to walk around uni in. Also, my mum would never put her credit card on the net. *g*

Hm... ignoring how they'd all stack up against each other in terms of pain, the 3rd and the 5th ones.

Oh the joys of ebay ^-^
They all seem rather painful don't they... hmmmmm.... MAYBE we should amputate our feet, get WOODEN feet but THEM in the boots and THEN we could wear them happily ^-^
