General update, yo.

On Friday, ran into Tai and Rae in Civic and proceeded to wander round with them for the next hour. Was good times, yes precious! Also ran into Eugenie, Annie and my friend Sarah from Law. I love running into people. *heart*

Any universe in which I have to commence studying for finals six weeks in advance is not one I approve of. Am sick of note-taking. Do not give a toss about interpreting legislation, the constitution or independency from Britain, rar! Or at least not when I have to read excessively upon said topics. *hiss, yowl!*

Went to the rugby last night with Dad, Victoria and Jen. Forgot to take disposable needle. Should not have mentioned it, because father then stressed himself out of his mind and tried to find ambulance officers etc (who had no needles) which ruined his night when really it wasn't that big a problem. *sigh*

Angels is apparently already in the middle of the range for the average published first novel. Suspect that the smart thing to do would be to finish the story I'm on, replan the 'present' timeline, do extensive edits and attempt to get it published as a first volume. Don't know if it's really worth the bother, at least of that last step. Chances are slim-to-none, because honestly, who'd publish what is essentially a gay, blasphemous soap opera? Yeah, exactly. Maybe if I'm lucky there's a publisher out there who enjoys upsetting the Church.

Have been utilising new shiny dl limit. Have Tsubasa episodes 1 and 2 and the first Tenimyu. Tsubasa has pretty music, pretty voice actors, some of the animation is a bit... flat. I don't like the way they draw Fye, at least, not his hair. But I do like it. Tenimyu I've only watched the first half hour, but SO FUNNY. I mean. Dude. Japanese guys singing and dancing suggestively with tennis rackets. Hee hee hee. Even understand most of what's being said. XD (no subs)

Speaking of which, funny conversation with my brother today on the phone. He was saying that TeniPuri probably had heaps of gay subtext.

...

Okay, so he's right, so what? That doesn't mean I didn't argue. >D

Me: It's aimed at BOYS. 12 year old BOYS.
Rohan: So? That doesn't mean it doesn't have gay subtext.
Me: Even though it's aimed at boys?
Rohan: Plenty of Western children's cartoons have gay subtext.
Me: ... *horribly intrigued by the reversal here* Like?
Rohan: Superman.
Me: *DIES*
Rohan: Seriously, if you saw a guy in a lycra bodysuit? GAY.
Me: *laughing her butt off* So you're saying all superheroes are gay, then.
Rohan: Well, yeah. What about Batman and Robin?
Me: *DIES A THOUSAND DEATHS* What?
Rohan: Have you ever seen the 60s Batman cartoon? Everyone knows there's gay subtext in it. That show is so camp.
Me: Uh. *lamely protests, given this is actually one of her ships:* In the comics, Robin came into Batman's care when he was 10.
Rohan: Shades of Michael Jackson.
Me: ... So according to you, everything has gay subtext?
Rohan: Yeah, if YOU like it.
Me: I like Star Wars! You're not going to find gay subtext in that, are you?
Rohan: ... I could, if I wanted to. But I don't want to.
Me: ... Yeah, me either.

Anyhoo, SO need to do washing. Washing has become small mountain. *avoids*

Er... we have Yami and Mirage of Blaze. Sukisho I'll be getting at some stage. FAKE is just an OVA, but I like the manga so I might check it out. Haven't heard of any of the others. *will investigate*

TSUBASA! *perks up* Is it good? I want to see it so badly... I'm waiting for Rod to get it at anime club. *sits on hands*

Some of the animation is a bit... eh. Mostly Fye. But other than that, it is LOVE!

My brother is odd. He mocks me, rather than just being generally disgusted with me. XD

Yeah, I know! I can read pretty well, but usually I'm pretty hazy on spoken Jap- hooray for Tenimyu, with its slow speech and easy, aimed-at-children language! XD

... omg, it gets gayer? :O *awaits with glee*

Oh, please, Han and Luke are totally gay for each other.

Ditto Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. Also, possibly, Obi-Wan and Anakin at some point but probably not because Anakin is a brat.

XDDD Han/Luke I am not going to, just because I love Han/Leia so much. And I don't count the prequels. They are not Star Wars. No.

See, I never really got the Han/Leia obsessive OTP love. They're cute and all, and I like them as a couple, but I don't get the overwhelming OTP-ness that I do with some couples (and yes, some het couples too :p).

The prequels are also scary. So maybe it is better that we ignore them.

Well, I've been watching Star Wars repeatedly since the age of about 3. So that might explain it a little. XD (Although I do have to admit, the first time I saw it I was totally shipping Luke/Leia until... well, you know.)

EXACTLY.

I saw it when I was...um. Somewhere between 8 and 11? Maybe? I really can't remember. It was pre-fandom, I remember that much, and I was only watching it because it was all they had in the ancient video section in the library where my grandparents used to live.

The nerds in my kenjutsu class all maintain that JarJar is responsible for everything that goes wrong in the Star Wars universe. I think they may be right.

My brother loved it, and his insane love transferred to me. :D

When you say that, do you mean that JarJar is responsible for everything that goes wrong in a plot sense? In which case yes. If you mean everything that is wrong with the prequels... him and ickle!Anakin. Shudder.

Hee. Familial obsession-sharing. I'm currently attempting to get my stepsisters hooked on showtunes.

Plot sense, yes.

Japanese guys singing and dancing suggestively with tennis rackets

(*snicker*)

What a mental image that is. So, is Tenimyu supposed to be funny, or is it just a happy accident that it is?

From: [identity profile] tammaiya.livejournal.com
I'm not sure how funny the dancing/lyrics are supposed to be, but the dialogue in-between songs is, so it's PROBABLY intentional. XD
