Happy birthday, Shi! For... yesterday, depending on dodgy timezones. <<; If you want birthday fic, all you need do is ask. <3

In other news, the sequel to Broken Open is now over 4500 words long, and... I'm not quite sure there are words to describe it. It will be longer still.

Also, I have RSI in my shoulder and should be studying. *cough*

Wow, you must write very quickly if the sequel is already that long. Why is it difficult to describe. Of course, considering that it's Seishirou and Subaru, I probably shouldn't be asking that question.

Studying is highly overrated ^_^

Not as fast as I usually do, actually, which is mildly annoying but oh well.

It's... yes, well I was going to say "they haven't even STARTED having sex yet!" as a measure of how much longer it would be, but, uh, that's not ENTIRELY accurate. Mostly, but not entirely. And while this has more plot than Broken Open, it's still not overly much. XD

How fast do you usually write? 4500 words in a day would be a miracle for me. Course, I'm extremely lazy when it comes to actually writing something down.

There's different definitions of plot and though Broken Open certainly didn't have an adventure story type of plot, I still thought it had enough of a plot to keep things from dragging. I'm interested in seeing what the sequel is about, besides more Subaru-torture :)

I'm relieved that there's going to be a happy ending since that's a difficult thing to pull off for S&S unless you wander deep into the territory of AUs/reincarnation fics. Speaking of reincarnation fics, which I have read quite a few of, I'm surprised that there isn't any previous incarnation fics. X has so much potential for that type of fic, yet I haven't ever seen anything along the lines of that.

It's been two days, hasn't it? *can't remember* Whether it has or hasn't, though... I spent a lot of hours actually WRITING. Usually I can write over 1000 words in an hour, but not recently.

I guess that's true, yes. The basic plot of the sequel carries over from the ending- Seishirou won't let Subaru leave the apartment.

It is hard, yeah, so hopefully I can pull it off, but we'll see. Probably the reason there's no previous incarnation fic is that it'd have to end unhappily, and if people are going to go to the effort of making new personas for the characters they want it to have a different result than the series.

I think it's been two days since you first posted Broken Open but I was factoring the time it took to decide to write a sequel and come up with what to write, etc.

I always marvel at an author's ability to just sit down and write. I find myself being constantly distracted and frustrated at the lack of progress. Though you haven't being writing as mcuh lately, the quality of your fic certainly hasn't suffered ^_^

Actually, I think a previous incarnation fic would end happily, since the world couldn't have ended if the Promised Day was to happen in 1999. I was doing resaerch for my Japanese project and I found a book that said that there were earthquakes and fires broke out in the Tokyo/Edo area once in the 17th century and again in the 19th century. This could be the basis for a previous Promised Day to have taken place in the past, but since the world survived, things had to have ended semi-happily, right? Also, the Sumeragi and Sakurazuka clans are ancient clans, so it would make sense for them to have participated. Just an idea I had, but there's no way I would be able to write it, so I thougt that I'd share ^_^ *evil grin* You wouldn't feel like adopting a little plot buuny now, would you?

Ah, I started the sequel quite quickly since the end basically needed one. *g*

The thing is, though, a previous incarnation fic wouldn't necessarily revolve around the end of the world, and even if it did, though the world survives... Well, for the characters to be reborn in relation to each other the way they are in X, they must have died tragically in a past life with bitter feelings and destroyed romance between some of them. And I WOULD say yes but that would take a lot of historical research. So I'll think about it. XD

Yeah, you're right about the tragically dying part since that would make more sense considering the events of X. Though the beauty of TB and X was watching everything unfold, knowing that it wouldn't/can't end happily, but desperately hoping that it will. Still, there could be some happy moments in between the death and destruction.

I understand why you wouldn't want to try writing anything of the sort since it'd be a HUGE undertaking, so I don't mind if you decide against it. Still, if you do decide to try, I'd be more than willing to help out with the researching. Japanese history is such fascinating topic. I'm not joking wither, I'm just a social studies geek :)

Well, this has taken me 2 months to reply to. Uh. *can be very absent-minded, sometimes*

Another question on that front would be whether it was a past incarnation, or an AU. Two distinct options there, main upshot being the possibility of a happy ending in an AU. Then again, the link between the canon universe and the fic universe would be more tenuous-- the AU I wrote was set in the same timeframe, allowing for cross-referencing, and a previous incarnation would obviously allow for foreshadowing, but an AU set in the past? It's something to think about, at any rate.

I agree with you, actually. I was a history student at school (hence all the European medieval/renaissance history I wove into above-named fic *shifty*) and I adore researching that kind of thing. I really want to do a Japanese history course at uni, only my degree is Law/Asian (Japanese/Japanese Linguistics) which does not allow for many if any electives outside my faculty, in the case of law, or majors, in the case of Asian.

But on the fic front, I'll definitely consider it. I don't have the time now-- lots of uni work, and a whole lot of unwritten fics making me feel terribly guilty-- but I'm going to keep it in mind.

*very glad to hear there's another one coming* XD

Good luck with the studying, if you get around to it. ^__^;

Hee! Okay. XD Clearly Sei-chan is the doctor, since vet is close enough. TB!timeline, AU, dream, or do you want to make me work for it? *g*

I think I've figured out a way to do it without any of the above cop-outs, just for a challenge. It would be a fairly loose interpretation of doctor/patient, though, is that okay?

Nice to know that there's going to be a sequel. ^^ Still...If you have RSI, maybe you shouldn't be writing too much at the moment.

I'm working on that Gohou Drug drabble you requested, but it is taking a while because it refuses to stay drabble length and I'm busy. It may be quite some time before it is finished. But it is much fun to write. ^^

Studying.... (*brrr*) That is what I should be doing right now.

Ah, it doesn't stop me typing, oddly. I thought that was what caused it, but it only hurts when I lift my arm. Maybe my mum's right and it's actually shoulder freeze. XD

Ooh! Gohou Drug! And if it's longer than a drabble, I have no objections at all! There NEEDS to be more GD fic. *happy*
