I figure it's pretty much time for an update when the last one was so long ago and there is actual stuff happening in my life. Well, sort of. Good stuff and bad stuff.

Ebony isn't... brilliant. She had a large lump on her side and a small black lump under her tail. The vet said the large one was a growth but it was probably benign, and he generally wouldn't put Ebony through the discomfort of operating until it got so big it was hindering her movement. However, he thought the small black lump may be a melanoma. Since he operated on that, he operated on the big lump as well.

The operations were on Friday. She's now a quarter shaved and has a very big cut on her side, as well as a little one near her bottom. She's a lot better than when she came home; she can walk, now, and her eyes aren't clouded with pain anymore. She's not trembling. But I still can't give her a proper cuddle, because I have to be careful not to jolt the leg near her stitches or touch the stitches.

Other news; well, this week was the week of hell, assessment wise. Two assignments, one for Japanese Linguistics and one for Contracts. The Japanese Linguistics one was an annotated bibliography and abstract for the research essay I'll be doing later in the term. Hah. Hahah. Yeah, see, I had to write an abstract on the essay I hadn't written yet. Had not, in fact, properly researched yet. Partially because all my resources are in Japanese.

Yes, that's right, I chose such an obscure topic I have to research in my second (fairly dodgy) language. ;; And I ended up coming up with a proposal that basically says this theory is flawed. A theory by the guy who wrote my textbook. Uh... that can't be good, can it? Eep. (Oh well, I don't have to be RIGHT, do I? I hope?)

As for the Contracts, it was worth 30% and it was a viciously hard legal problem. Oh, I'm not exaggerating, they told us they made it hard on purpose. -_-; Thanks, guys. Hopefully I did okay, though. I "finished" it on Thursday night, and then in Friday morning's lecture I was like "OH NOEZ! I FORGOT STUFF!" so I went home and hurriedly added in some vital little details, which wasn't that difficult, and had an epic battle with the word limit, which was.

But, I got it in. Phew. However, my subjects enjoy continuous assessment, so for next week I have to write a one page assessed summary of the reading I haven't done yet for Japanese Linguistics and rewrite the skills journal about legal drafting for Lawyers Justice & Ethics because I didn't talk about the exercises, only the skills in general. (And now I don't actually remember what we did. Uh oh.)

There is also a Japanese mini-test and the fairly constant reading and tutorial work, which is why I'm... on the internet.

The motivation has completely died. ^^; This year is too long; with how much work there is in a Law/Asian degree, and with how short (and assignment filled) the mid-semester break is, it's too hard to keep going. Aiyaaaa.

What other news of my life? Um, Mari and I went out to Floriade yesterday. It's like the Canberra flower festival. That was really nice, even though I hypoed twice. See? THAT'S what they don't tell you about diabetes. That you'll never be able to do exercise again without precise calculations you'll probably get wrong anyway. I was all set to never eat chocolate again (well, expecting to be told that, as if I'd ever be able to stick to it XD) but no, that's not even a condition. I could eat it quite frequently, if I didn't care about getting fat. *g*

Also, what with all this work and all those christmas fics, OBVIOUSLY I find myself new fandoms to write for like Hikaru no Go and HanaKimi. OBVIOUSLY. And just as obviously, I start writing CCS!X.

... What? *looks shifty*

Now, back to work. No, really, I mean it this time.

ETA: Also I am way way waaaaaaaay behind on comments. It's not because I'm ignoring anyone or anything! Sorry guys, I'll catch up soon. ^^;

About a week later... XD *is behind on comments*

She's a LOT better than she was. We're still waiting on the pathology to see whether or not it was a melanoma, but her stitches aren't bothering her now. Thanks, Shi. ^^
