Oh my GOD, people are MORONS. On New Inventors (which my parents watch), two academic wankers came up with this software which divides property (AND CHILDREN) in family law disputes by the couple assigning ratings to the property based on how much they want each thing.

And it won.

WHAT.

Have these people never SEEN a family law dispute? IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. Even assuming they are a relatively reasonable couple who don't want everything on principle or who don't change their mind, assuming there isn't something they both rank as the most important thing (LIKE, SAY, THE *HOUSE*), how do you expect them to settle custody with a piece of software? Yeah, RIGHT. The guy sounded like he was reading straight out of my Lawyers Justice & Ethics text and the chick compared it to the thesis she did on Industrial Relations as though it didn't matter that one was commercial context and the other was family. I just can't believe it won. The stupidity of people ASTOUNDS me.

Uh, that rant aside, I'm up to the Riku half of KH:CoM and episode 1x14 of House. The extensions... have I mentioned them recently? The new part of the house has been built and rooved, walls have been demolished, supports have been built, furniture has been shuffled, carpet has been ripped up... Mum is on leave two weeks from last week, so until the end of this week. Um, my blood-sugar metre ran out of battery this morning so I don't have a clue what my blood-sugar is, ahahahaha.

Oh, and I had my first tutoring session today. My old school, year 8 girl, Japanese. She's nice, she seems to learn quite quickly, she's willing to listen to what I'm saying and try to fix pronunciation etc, and I think she'll do the study I asked her to do. I think it went okay, all told.

Randomly, when you make a post about divorce and use an Akiha/Umeda icon, God kills a Kitten. Probably the cute little black kitten that the idiot gave to Sempai.

On the other hand, this also makes me think of batshit AUs where they have kids and probably a nice little house with a nice little front lawn and did I mention kids? Though, mommy will probably not let the kids anywhere near the cat because they have sticky fingers. ....actually, that probably applies to daddy, too.

Yes, I'm sure they're morons.
I mean hey, they are only academics how could they possibly hope to know more than a first year law student?
I'm sure their research and trials, which were apparently quite successful, were completely bogus as well.

Look, this has nothing to do with being a law student, first year or not. It's a question of human nature. Do you really think that a couple who may want revenge more than the possessions is going to sort it out that easily? Particularly the house and the kids?

Anyway, who is this and why are you anonymous? If it's a secrecy thing, I'm not going to hate you for disagreeing with me, jeez. And if it's because you don't have a journal, how did you find MY journal, and do I know you?
