*is at work, idly stuffing around on the net*
Noooooobody told me that the weekend evening shifts had changed from starting at 3 to 2 at some point since the last time I covered a weekend shift, and so I was half an hour late. :D; But Liz was pretty understanding. It still says 3 in the book and everything.
This is remarkably relaxing. I wish I ALWAYS worked Sundays. You get paid more to do less. There's only one doctor on and not many phonecalls and very little filing! *surfs the net*
Two days to my birthday. I keep forgetting this. Am officially broke, after a $1000 contribution towards my birthday/christmas present (which will arrive tomorrow or on my birthday) and all the money I owe my brother, so just as well I'm working.
Speaking of my brother, he asked about my uni results the other day. I thought I'd mentioned them in one email or another, but apparently not. It's really nice to know he cares enough to actually ask about them-- this might make more sense if you knew my brother-- and he congratulated me on my Contracts mark. It's not like he's never congratulated me on marks before, but it's not common and it feels like he did more than usual. Like, he said that was really good and I should be proud, and stuff. So, you know. That actually did make me feel pretty happy with myself.
Christmas fics are going at a reasonable pace. One a day for the past week, I believe, and I'm now down to 9 left. Every night has been a different fandom, too, 1000-3000 words, and since I don't start writing until somewhere between midnight and 2, I haven't been going to bed until 4-6. I'm dead tired, but I'm happy they're going so fast. If only I'd started doing this EARLIER. But, how did that Calvin & Hobbs comic go? "You don't work best under pressure, you ONLY work under pressure." <-- *accurate for me*
Meanwhile, I am hanging around on the official Kingdom Hearts II site. Aside from marvelling at how much my Japanese has improved (for example, look at the story tab, and see how fast that scrolls and with all those kanji! Obviously it helped that I knew most of the background story from the prequel games, but nevertheless), I am also wanting KHII liek now. The site doesn't really tell you anything you don't already know if you've played the prequels and seen various Disney movies, but it's SHINY. If I weren't totally broke, I would so set up my PSII to play Asia region and order it over the net when it hit the shelves in Japan. *covets*
Also: Is that blond guy Riku? That blond guy is totally Riku. OMFG WHAT. He looks like the blond version of Sora. He was cuter looking like the bratty teenage version of Sephiroth. Uh, if it really is Riku. *stare*
Oh, and I went to the hairdressers yesterday. Hair is now short and blonde. Not that short, shoulder-length, but everyone keeps saying "WOW SHORT". It is also dead straight, but I think it will look better once I wash it and let it dry naturally. Which is wavy-ish. *shrug* No photos, for the usual reasons of "I am unphotogenic" and the more pragmatic reason of "the digital camera does not connect to the computer, yo".
Huh, I have been updating this entry for an hour and a half now. The time is actually 5.40.
