(no subject)

This morning when I got out of bed, I stood on a coathanger. This HURT. This hurt not just in the "ow, jesus, hard and pointy thing on the floor!" way but in the "AAAAAH THE POINTY THING IS STICKING INTO MY FOOT!" way.

I bring this up because I took the bandaid off and I can now tell how deep in it went and I am wincing, though mostly it doesn't hurt now if I don't touch it. Coathangers are not meant to be sharp enough to do that. I've been HOBBLING ALL DAY.

*weeps*

Uh, what else. I am the worst procrastinator ever and manage a sum total of typing up two lectures worth of notes in a whole day off. My brother paid $115 for a standing room ticket at a U2 concert and I hate him SO HARD because it is in the last week of exam period and for all I know my exams could be over by then (they were last semester) but they MIGHT NOT and $100 is a lot of money to take a risk on and it's U BLOODY TWO and I'm not as into concerts as my brother but, you know, U2. I once had a dream about seeing U2 live. You think I'm joking, but I'm serious. It was about a year ago. Between Halloween and Big Day Out.

I actually wrote some of the KH fic I started weeks ago last night. I haven't written anything since before I went into hospital a fortnight ago, so hey. Only about 700 words, and it's not finished yet, but it's getting there. The whole thing so far is just over 5,600.

Randomly, I seem to have a dairy craving recently. I always want to eat ice cream and drink milk. Weird.

Also I may have given myself two doses of night time insulin because I couldn't remember if I had or hadn't already given it to myself about five minutes earlier, but in the end I figured that it would be worse to skip it and go really high than to have too much, because I always wake up with hypos.

Nevertheless, hopefully I didn't.

Ow, my foot.

D: That's really not good news regarding your foot!! I hope it gets better quick! Stupid ANU having a huuuuuuge campus...

Let me just say, for the record, I wish I wish I hadn't chosen Proud Mode for KH2. Ohhh man, even simple battles are PAIN unless I actually spend some time grinding :(

Hi there. Just surfing friendsfriends and found you. You have my total sympathy about the foot and coathanger thing. Ow yow. And I hate to be the one to bring this up, but is this a wire coat hanger we're talking about, and a puncture wound, yeah?

Have you had a tetanus shot in the last ten years? Because you might want to consider getting one if it's been more than ten years.

Yeah, I did consider that, but I think the last one would have been about 6 years ago. If the coathanger were rusty I'd probably go get another shot anyway, but I think it should be okay. Thanks for the advice, though!

Reading your tale reminded me of time I was closing our somewhat recalcitrant sofa bed, and jammed one of the (broken) support wires hard (and deep) into the heel of my hand. Owie yow ow ow! I went straight to the hospital (where I work) and asked for a tetanus shot, because it had been more than ten years. And the wire wasn't rusty, but the sofa bed was 20 years old, and one never knows what accumulates on surfaces. *shudders from the memory of that particular wound*

Ooooow, that sounds horrible. *wince* Last time my mum cut herself on a nail or something she went out and got a shot, because she couldn't remember the last time she'd had one and she's always fairly cautious.
