Okay, so, mini update.

The Good:

- My period has started; this is good because it had been four months, the last of which I have suffered PMS
- Strangely, I am in less pain now than I was the day before it started.
- Despite studying for the wrong passage for today's dictation, I still knew all the kanji. Phew.
- I only have one hour of class left today, having only had one hour so far
- I pwned 2 of the evillest minigames in ToDII (Harold and Nanali at the sushi-ya) by cheating with a turbo controller. YES. That leaves one wait-staff minigame to go! (Harold in Aigurette)
- Roxas fic isn't going too badly

The Bad:

- My period has started. This requires no explanation.
- I am suffering less pain, but it is STILL PAIN.
- I wasted time last night studying for the wrong passage for today's dictation. Time when I COULD HAVE BEEN SLEEPING.
- Finishing at 11am meant my first class was at 9am, and I am very, very tired. Also, buses mean I don't get home until 12.30-ish.
- I still have one wait-staff minigame left, it is demonically hard, and there's no way to cheat at it.

The Ugly Random:

- I've started playing the GBA version of FFI at uni. The plot is still random and the characters still have no set personality, but it's actually a lot better than the PS version. Weirdly, the graphics are better.

- I wrote a tanka poem in my Japanese tute. It is very heartfelt, and very poetic:

はらいたい なきたいほどだ このいたみ
なんでもしても おわらないよう

(My stomach hurts
so much that I want to cry
this pain
no matter what I do
seems never-ending)

- Last night there were three cop cars with their lights on about 20 metres from my house, down the street running perpendicular to ours. I don't know why, but it had to be something pretty major, because usually it's hard enough to get a single officer to come for things like vandalism or break-ins, let alone 3 cars.

Hm. Half past. *spaces out*

*hugs*

I have regular periods due to the *hormone drug of doom*, but all the women in my family (including pre-hormone tablet ros) have extremely odd, sporadic and painful periods.

So much PMS sounds nasty, not to mention the horrible period related pain. Hope you feel better soon. That's a nice poem, though. Very expressive! (*Is pleased at being able to read hiragana*)

How does FFI rate as fun to play?

It does, yes. >< I've still got my period now, but I'm feeling a lot better. Less needle-resistant, less achey, less bloated and in extreme cramping pain, etc.

Thank you, I thought so. *modest*

FFI... hm. *contemplates* It's a little strange because the characters have no set names or backgrounds or personalities or anything, and the plot is a little random-- like, it starts out with the king of this country being like "oh woez I need the heroes of light from this prophecy we have!" and we just, y'know. Turn up. Holding crystals, with no explanation of how we got them or turned up at that country or anything, the game just starts there. XD But it is quite enjoyable in an old-school kind of way. If you play it, play the GBA version, not the PS version.

Maybe I'll look out for FFI sometime, since I do like old-school stuff. XD But usually there's some pretense at having a backstory. They must have rung Dial-a-Hero.

Yeah. XD They're like, hm, we are not sure we believe you.

Us: *hold up crystals!*
King: Okay, coolios, go save my daughter. :D :D :D!
Advisor: ... ER.

But this was back when RPGs were revolutionary, so I can see why there's not so much with the plot or direction. FFII is an improvement on that front.
