Nov. 7th, 2006 05:09 pmThings I have done today:
and now for a moment of silly.
Me: randomly
in my exam room last week there were two physics students
and on their allowed items list
was "two small pieces of fruit + 1 flashlight"
and I was like, god I'm glad I'm not a physics student right now
Tristan: lol
Me: I was allowed a calculator and a ruler
much more normal
Fahye: hahaha. that's actually just a joke that one of the physics teachers plays
they think the allowed materials thing is hilarious
so they put random shit on their list. for no reason.
Me: ... *dies* I thought they had to do an experiment involving light or something.
Fahye: no no
it's just a joke :D
Ebony: oh well, at least presumably people can eat the fruit they bring in. *g*
Anyway. Yesterday I checked the uni email and webct servers, from which two things resulted. I had an email from one of my Japanese lecturers saying that my phonetic data programming assignment has submission issues, so I'll have to do something about that after my exam tomorrow. Hell, I'll probably have to reprogramme the wretched thing with my luck. Traumatic memories of my final IT assignment in year 12 resurface.
The other thing was that my OTHER Japanese lecturer had made an announcement regarding a textbook/workbook on Japanese grammar he and my sensei from last year and someone from Sydney are writing asking for students to volunteer to help trial it, comment on it, etc. So I've agreed to do that over the holidays. I can do it from home.
I think that's about it, really. Maybe I'll take a nap. Or get my arse kicked by pixels some more...
- Watched mirage of blaze ep 4 without subtitles, because a) I was bored and b) I could. amusingly it made more sense without the subtitles than when I watched it with them 2 years ago.
- Worked on mirage of blaze translations. Oh, sweet literacy. However some of the language Kuwabara-sensei uses is v. obscure and not even the japanese yahoo dictionary has it, though it's usually pretty good. Also there are just some colloquial phrases I don't know. anyway. Am going to have to go back and fix the first few chapters some time.
- Played some ToDII, got my ass whipped by the mini-boss on the fourth level of the secret dungeon. Why, ToDII? Why do you do this to me? All I want is to see Johnny, is that so much to ask?
- Killed time on Facebook
- Killed time on LJ
- Holepunched, indexed, etc my summaries. "Summaries".
