First off: someone anonymously bought me paid time! omg I love you. I shower you in anonymous love, since I suspect even if I ask who it was you won't tell. But thank you a lot, anyway. ♥

I still haven't completely recovered from the flu, making it a week since I came down with it. It's more a nuisance than anything, now; sometimes I feel really sick, mostly it's not too bad. Right now I'm not wonderful, because I've got a headache and a slight fever and I'm at work (which may be WHY I feel sicker, or may just be unfortunate timing), but hopefully I'll be better later.

I'll be very annoyed if I'm feeling worse tomorrow, though, because I agreed to work 9-5 for my father. Can't decide if this is a good or bad thing. On the one hand... money. On the other hand... morning. Also, christmas fics.

Speaking of: 5 down, 20 plus boyband!X to go. If I have 8 done by next Tuesday I'll be in about the same position I was in last year.

Since I haven't updated since Monday, quick runthrough of the week. Tuesday I went over to Mari and Yuka's place, along with 3 of our other school friends, because Mari and Yuka are going to Japan for the summer holidays as of tomorrow. (this is another reason why my sickness is such rotten timing. I haven't been able to stay over and I'm not going to see them again for 3 months. SIGH.) Started to feel icky in the evening, but it was fun.

Wednesday was... eventful. Ish. I had a half hour long blood test booked at 9am, so I had to get up early, and then I was waiting for a while to get called in, so I wasn't done until 10. They were doing a serial prolactin test to make sure the high reading on the other test was accurate. Then I got dragged shopping with my mother and aunt, because not only is mother determined to give me something I don't want for my birthday and christmas presents, she's going to put me through torture to get them, too.

No, I'm not a big fan of clothes shopping unless I'm in the right mood, and especially not with my mother.

Anyway, the right mood I certainly was not in. The word of the day was 'hate', which I employed with great frequency. This was partially because I was feeling sullen, I will admit, but also because I don't really like any of the things currently in the shops. If I'd been in a better mood I probably just would have been more diplomatic about it. *cough*

So after THAT fun 2 hours, I had an appointment with my endocrinologist to pick up the new trial disposable pens for Lantus. Which I did. And also asked about the prolactin, which I'd assumed was a symptom of PCOS, but. Uh. No. No, apparently high prolactin is a symptom of some other condition that's harder to treat, and if these tests are high too, I'm going to have to go through a series of expensive and annoying tests to diagnose and then take two pills daily and another pill weekly if I've got whatever-it-is. YAY. Another medical condition, just what I've always wanted!

Then I rang Mari for 2 hours. ♥

To end this on a more fannish note, I watched this week's House, and all I really have to say is this: patient and his siblings = aaaaw woobie. Ducklings were very much 4tw, and Wilson just... needs a hug, because his best friend is a complete dick. I mean, House has always been a complete dick, but he's taking it to new levels this week. Cuddy kicks arse, though. ♥

Also, on the note of boyband!X and mafia!TB, I feel so much less bad about the violation of canon I am guilty of by lieu of the fact that if CLAMP can have vampire twin Subaru and Kamui and mafia!Eagle, then... no, seriously. SERIOUSLY. If they can relate their characters in cracky ways and have mafia AUs, then so can I! And, um. Hanshin Republic almost had boyband!AUs? With Primera?

... Look, they've got vampires, they can't talk okay.

While I was researching something historical mentioned in Mirage of Blaze, I discovered that there is a historical clan leader called Sanada Yukimura, and I just had to take the moment to stare at Tenipuri and wonder how Konami did not think that was really really gay.

On a, uh, connected note, one of Sanada Yukimura's 10 famous generals was called Sarutobi Sasuke. That one might be a coincidence, though. Possibly.

Finally, happy Thanksgiving for today/tomorrow, Americans on ye olde flist!
