Jan. 18th, 2007 11:43 pmWow, I really fail at the internet recently.
Um, anyway, this is largely due to the fact I've been reading books lately, and necessarily that means spending less time on the computer. Also, I'm kind of like can't-walk-and-talk-at-the-same-time unco, only when I'm reading something I completely lose all ability to write. Apparently. Or I assume that's the cause, because two hours after I finished reading the last book in this quartet, I got my inspiration back like a smack to the head while I was trying to sleep.
Happy birthday to
corialis and
su_chan for the 15th and 16th respectively. Sorry I'm late-- see also, failing at the internet. I haven't been talking to people online much since Christmas, either. There's been a lot of inertia. So don't think I'm ignoring you or anything if I haven't been pinging you as often as usual on IM, because I haven't been pinging ANYONE much. *fails at life and so forth*
On Sunday I watched the modern BBC "retelling" of Much Ado About Nothing, which was awesome. I missed Macbeth the week before, unfortunately, and I don't know if there were any before that, but I'll be watching them after this. This week's is Taming Of The Shrew, with Kate as a politian being pressured to get married.
On another note, since I don't appear to have mentioned it at all, about two weeks ago I watched Avatar: The Last Airbender. Er, what else. Oh, I saw the gynaecologist last week and was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) which is very common and basically just means I have to take a specific (and more expensive) brand of the contraceptive pill in order to control my hormones and so forth. Given that it's already been three and a half months since my last period and four months between the last two, it'll be a relief to at least know when to expect it.
Other than that: yesterday my cousin gave birth to a baby girl, 9 and a half pounds. Her name is Rowan. This is amusing, because it was my brother Rohan's birthday the day before.
(And they're pronounced the same way, for the record.)
I have finally, finally lined up my first driving lesson for next Friday afternoon (Australia Day), and my parents have finally decided to consider aircon and the guy is coming out tomorrow for a quote.
I think that's all, really.
Oh, the other day was the third hottest day on Canberra record. 40.5 degrees celsius, which is above 100 F. It was revolting.
And THAT is all.
