Feb. 8th, 2007 11:32 pmOkay, first off: sorry to everyone I owe some form of reply to (be it email or LJ comment), because my email backlog has started to build up once more and it will take me a while to work through. Eheh. ^^;
Moving on from that, um, last entry I made was just after the car crash... so following up on that, the burn has scabbed over (it looks like I stacked off a bike or got bad carpet burn or something), I filed a police report on Monday which was LONG AND TEDIOUS (how the hell should I know what compass direction I was travelling in?), we still don't know whether or not the car is a write-off (NRMA only started looking at it today, they rang to ask me a few routine questions), and the driving lesson on Tuesday was not horribly traumatic. My steering is getting better, as is my gear changing. Though I have a tendency to break at intersections at the first hint of traffic, because I am afraid of other cars (in fact I am afraid of the car I'm driving, too; neither of these things are new, I was terrified before I crashed and I'm probably only a little more terrified now), which annoyingingly meant a lot of being set back to first gear and frustrated the instructor a little. <<
Other than car-related news, hm. Monday I had a dietitian appointment, which Marie drove me to. That went okay, though there's still an issue with the number of evening hypos I've been having. I'm keeping a chart of exact measurements of what I eat for this week to email the dietitian so she can calculate how many carbs I'm eating for each meal and if that's got anything to do with it. I also made an appointment to see the diabetic educator again, later this month. Anyway, after that appointment I went to the police station to file the aforementioned police report.
Tuesday was the driving lesson, followed by going to the Woden Library with Marie. In all honesty I haven't actually been to any of the ACT libraries for about 7 years, maybe even 10, but I thought it was worth giving it a try again, especially since they've put their catalogue online since I last paid any attention. I got a spiffy new card, which didn't cost me because I still had my ratty OLD card (with my dodgy 10-year-old idea of a "signature", hur hur), and hired out a few books.
Wednesday my period started for the first time in 4 and a half months (2 days late, considering I'm now taking the pill) and brought with it EXCRUCIATING, GUT-WRENCHING AGONY. I usually get period pain but HOLY CHRIST. OW. JUST OW. Even the pain pills and hot water bottle did not help. ;_; Thankfully it's subsided somewhat now.
On a connected sidenote, did you know that Nurafen has sucrose in it?
Whichever way, I am continuing in the tradition of doing my laundry. It is a strange, novel, and rather zen-like feeling. I have also gone back to cleaning and today cleaned my jewellery drawer. I have four earrings with no pair, which considering how many I own is not as bad as it could be, but I'm really upset about one of those earrings. Alas.
Perhaps connected to the cleaning/laundry, or maybe just because my mum likes shopping and likes buying things and there was novel value to me voluntarily going shopping with her, which I have done both Wednesday this week and Wednesday last week, she has been buying me things. The purpose of the trip last Wednesday was a $20 voucher for Sussan which eventuated in clothing that came to a lot more than $20, plus two tops from Rockmans, plus a pair of shoes. Wednesday this week was in aid of new bras, of which I got 4, (still 12/34F. sigh) and eventuated in another pair of new shoes and almost a new dress except I decided I didn't like it when I tried it on.
Erm. Seriously, my mum... really likes shopping? For daughters as well as herself.
There will possibly be photos later, of new clothes and shoes and jewellery dating back to birthday presents and Christmas presents and following through to now, and possibly also of my clean room. Later, when everything is properly clean and I feel less bloated and sore.
Meanwhile, I am going to go play more Tales of Rebirth instead of communing with my new law textbook, as I perhaps should be doing. COUGH.

Date: 2007-02-08 01:10 pm (UTC)also, have you tried naprogesic? since period pain is apparently caused by your body going OMG PERIOD HORMONE TIME *JUMPS UP AND DOWN ON BUTTON* or er, that only sciency-sounding, and napro attempts to treat the cause rather than just masking it with yummy, yummy ibuprofen, that might work for you.
at least, seems to work for me, long as i start taking em early enough. period pain is SUCK.
HERE. HAVE ANGSTY SUBARU. HE MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER. D:::::

Date: 2007-02-08 01:37 pm (UTC)Yes, I figured that was the reason. I checked the label after my blood-sugar reading was concerningly high. >< Panadol and Panacodeine don't, so I think I'm going to have to stick to them from now on.
Hopefully the periods won't be so painful from now on-- I went onto the pill because I have poly cystic ovary syndrome, which delays periods incessantly by screwing with your hormones, and the longer periods are delayed the more painful they get... so hopefully the next one shouldn't be this bad? *prays*

Date: 2007-02-08 10:45 pm (UTC)If the difference between paracetamol and ibuprofen means anything to you there's always advil :o they're weird caplets, so I don't imagine they'd have anything untoward in them, though I don't have one here to check. It's bizarre realizing what has sugar in it. >.<
*prays with you* ;_;
OH OH I HAVE A BEAUTIFUL BABY AND I CALLED HIM SATOSHI. But all I have to play on him at the moment is Pokémon Sapphire. But, my DS Lite is beautiful and lovely *SQUISHES IT*
