Sometimes I really HATE law.
Feb. 15th, 2007 12:58 amWhat does it say that I am currently stressed, sleep-deprived and despairing of my ability to ever finish my law reading (hell, for one course, let alone BOTH of them)...
... when it's Wednesday and my classes don't even fucking START until Monday?
Yeah. *sigh*
So okay, today I met up with Mari in Civic, we ate lunch, we hit the ANU (and it so happened to be Market Day of O-week, so I got free softdrink, rejoined film group, and we ran into heaps of people) to buy my other law textbook, then we went to Woden to meet up with Yuka and have afternoon tea. All good. Yesterday... yesterday I had a driving lesson where I drove 100km/h and did not crash or almost crash and ran into Eugenie at the park.
Monday, you know what, I don't even remember Monday so it can't have been that interesting.
In other news the scab on my burned arm is gone and has left scar tissue which may or may not heal.
Oh, wait, Monday might have been the day I played and finished the Avatar RPG in about 6 hours. Maybe that was Sunday. But I definitely freaked out about the Year In Japan checklist because: academic transcript? student visa? letters from banks and deans? WHY DOES THE MED EXAM INVOLVE X-RAYS? so on, so forth. I don't have a passport and I need one, though not for probably another year. I do need to decide the topic of my research essay by applications in June, despite the fact that the due date isn't until freaking January 09.
And what all this comes down to is: OH MY GOD. I CAN'T HANDLE THIS. I CAN'T HANDLE ENDLESS ADMINISTRATION. I CAN'T HANDLE LAW.
I CAN'T HANDLE ADMINISTRATIVE LAW!!!!!
Maybe I will calm down about this some day soon, but today is not that day. Today is the day where I stare at the clock and the clock says it is 1am and I remember I promised to work for my parents tomorrow at like 10 in the goddamn morning and I am only 11 pages into 32 pages of admin law, and you know, that is only for my lecture on Monday, because there are about another 50 pages or so for my lecture on Wednesday and this ISN'T COUNTING THE 60 PAGES FOR CORPORATIONS LAW, OKAY.
If Japanese gives me much more work on top of this and sleep doesn't start coming into the equation PRONTO, I swear there is homicide in my future. Possibly justifiable. Certainly insane.
Stupid public accountability. These days it seems more like a theoretical ideal anyway. *mutter*

PS, what have you been up to recently? We have to catch up sometime, I still have like a billion of your books!

Date: 2007-02-19 12:52 pm (UTC)Apart from that, I've been pretty good, and pretty together, which is nice. Weekend sucked though, I found out Saturday night that one of my best friends in Melbourne, and former housemate, died 3 weeks ago. So I am having the occasional messy interlude at the moment.
How was first day actually back at lectures? Would getting parents to buy a high quality recorder, under the pretense that it is 'for lectures', be a good idea? It would then allow you to record the sound of repeated *headdesk*, and try and sell it as a new music genre/new percussion instrument. With variations caused by wearing different helmets to class for added entertainment.

Date: 2007-04-28 03:35 am (UTC)Answering this over 2 months belatedly-- eh, uni. I don't have a clash anymore, at least, but I'm kind of at that point where I go "yeaaaah, whatever" and reread the Mallorean instead of doing any work. <<
What suburb are you living in at the mo? Text me or email me or something, we really should try to organise something.
RE: the Death fic-- not that I recall?
