Okay, [livejournal.com profile] thehoyden tagged me for the my favourite five of fics I've written meme, and unsurprisingly most of these are TB/X just because of sheer bulk. I mean, obviously I like more stories in that fandom, because probably about 60% or so of my fics are IN that fandom. So, in no particular order:

According To Plan: I felt like I'd made a serious accomplishment after I finished the sex-scene in this one, I swear. This is one of my favourites because... I feel like I did something different with it. And I felt like I'd managed to get somewhere with trying to identify the unhealthy love-obsession thing Subaru and Seishirou have, how Seishirou could kill Subaru-- had already killed his sister-- and yet they still feel something for each other.

Domine Sancte: This is an AU I'm very proud of, because when I got the request to write priest!Seishirou/choirboy!Subaru my first reaction was "WHAT? you're joking, right?" So it was challenging. But I really liked the way it turned out, particularly the ending and the mass scene. Again, I think what I really like about it is the fact that it ended really bleakly but it was still clear they felt something for each other.

Karma: This is the first fic I've written where Seishirou kills Subaru, and the only one aside from According To Plan, which has Subaru as a ghost, so. I really liked the way the death scene turned out. Plus I always tend to be very pleased with AUs that turn out well, because they tend to be among my better works; they're usually fairly long and complex, because I put a lot of planning into translating the canon into the new universe. This time the ending was completely unhappy, which I don't often go for but that's what I like about this fic, that I didn't try to soften it. It's sort of intended as a previous incarnation fic, so there's the added irony that making the opposite choices in TB/X-- Seishirou killing Hokuto instead of Subaru, Seishirou being killed by Subaru instead of killing Subaru-- still lead to the bad ending.

Deterioration: Again with the bleak. Um. But I wrote this fic because I wanted to play with tense, and I judge it a successful stylistic attempt. Plus, you know, I like the bleak atmosphere. I think the style works well with it.

Possession: This is the one I think of as the Stockholm Syndrome fic. One of the bittersweet ones where Subaru learns to accept that Seishirou isn't going to change but cares about him in that possessive Seishirou kind of way, which wouldn't be enough for anyone else but is for Subaru. Kind of similar atmosphere to According To Plan in that regard. I like the pacing and the sort of muted surreal mundanity mixed with despair. There are also some scenes in the middle, like Subaru in the bathroom, that I really like.

NON-X

Sahasrara: I really like how amazingly well the different chakra fit the Mirage of Blaze characters. Making the comparisons gave me the opportunity to have some fun with metaphors, and with character relationships. I also feel like I managed to get a good handle on the connection between Takaya and Kagetora, and between Takaya/Kagetora and Naoe.

Binary: Like the concept on this one. Kingdom Hearts II, the process of Roxas losing his memories to be replaced by memories of Twilight Town at the start of the game.

Mirror Image: Song of the Lioness. Playing with Thom's psyche was really fun.

The Light of Dawn: Mirage of Blaze. I like the atmosphere of this fic.

Magical Maladies and Other Mysteries: House crossed with Song of the Lioness. I'm always a bit wary writing House, not because of characterisation, but because of medical jargon. However, I think it went okay in this fic. I just really like the way the characters of House and Thom reflect each other, too. And this is gen, which is unusual for me.

As a bonus extra I probably would've included All That Glitters, only it's not finished so it didn't REALLY feel like it counted. Also, reflecting on this list, I haven't included any crack fics. And the reason for that is... I don't know. I really like writing them, some of them I've very proud of, but technically speaking it's the serious ones that tend to stick with me. *shrug* (But if I were listing crack ones, the top ones to mind would be Happy Families, The Single Life, Sorata's Big Gay Adventure and Charm.)

Anyway, I taaaag... [livejournal.com profile] crazylittleme, [livejournal.com profile] fahye, [livejournal.com profile] lazulisong, [livejournal.com profile] cyrulean and [livejournal.com profile] corialis.
