Okay, so it's been about two weeks since I posted anything even VAGUELY meaningful and life-related. That probably gives you a clue about how exciting my life is right now. Possibly it's me not wanting to whine TOO often on this journal, because diabetes has been screwing me around and additionally, I have bad back pain and law fucking hates me. HATESSS MEEEE. Yay! Urgh. Anyway, yeah, something went haywire tuesday night/yesterday morning and I ended up with my blood sugar going up to 18.6 in my morning lecture. It wasn't a GREAt way to spend a lecture that is already great (being 9-11am admin law), feeling my internal organs hurting, but ce la vie. Or my life, anyhow.

On the less whiny front...

Um. *tries to think of something to say* I am slowly writing a Reishin/Kouyuu fic... I got huffy at Narikiri Dungeon 3 because it made me choose between Leon and Judas without even warning me that's what I was doing, so now I can't have Leon on my team, dammit... and I finally realised just how much of a freak I've become when, while playing KHI Final Mix, beyond simply bitching about the English voice-acting, I find myself paying more attention to the japanese subtitles than to what they're actually saying. FOR REAL. (Although it is interesting to compare the nuances of what they're saying in Japanese to what they're saying in English.)

I have a 20% Japanese presentation tomorrow, speaking of. Hopefully it won't suck, but that is perhaps too much to ask.

Ow, sweetie. Internal organ pain? Ow.

Different nuances? Is there more gay, less gay, or other differences?

*is curious*

Stupid LJ, not mailing me this for days! >(

Anyway, yes, much with the hurty. ;__; but at least it only lasts until I get my blood sugar down, and I don't often go up QUITE that high.

Yeah, different nuances... like, Goofy says, "All for one, and one for all!" and the subtitles say, boku-tachi wa nakama da! A lot of things the Disney characters say don't seem to translate properly into Japanese, because they all have these colloquial idiosyncratic turns of phrase, especially Hades. But then most of what the Final Fantasy/Square characters say doesn't quite seem to come off right in English, presumably because their characters were originally designed to speak Japanese.

The bit with the paopu fruit on Destiny Island was just as gay in Japanese as English, though. :D
