Apr. 21st, 2007 12:10 pmAm currently at
_leareth's place, after having a writing night yesterday. I fail at buses, but got here eventually.
More on the writing night thing in a tick, but on the whole yesterday thing, I fail at more than buses. I missed my driving lesson. >< My brother and I went to the Lifeline Bookfair, and were 15 minutes late getting back. Mother annoyed, driving instructor surprisingly not, rebooked for May 2. Sigh.
As for the Lifeline Bookfair, I spent $221 on books and $6 on bags to carry them with, which is preeeetty much my entire pay packet for the week. Considering I worked 9 extra hours this week, um. Oops. Anyway, it takes effort to spend that much money at the Lifeline Bookfair; it's second hand books that are all prices around the $2-7 mark. I got a bunch of fantasy series I've read but didn't own (all of Wheel of Time, the Belgariad, the Mallorean, the Elenium, the Tamuli) plus some other fantasy books my brother said I should read (the first two books of the Otori Clan, the Riftwar Saga, Fool's Assassin trilogy) and some entirely non-fantasy books (Farenheit 451, Name of the Rose, Foucalt's Pendulum, Rumpole Rests His Case, 2 Japanese history books, Japanese novel by Akagawa Jirou).
Altogether I think there were about 43 books. Eheh. Where am I going to put them? I DO NOT KNOW. So don't ask. *looks shifty*
Anyway, as previously mentioned, I stayed over last night at
_leareth's place for writing. We watched PotC 2 on dvd, since 3 is coming out in the movies soon, and the waterwheel seen is seriously always going to be one of the most well-orchestrated action scenes I've ever seen. ♥ I think
_leareth was just watching it for the seafood, though. She drooled and said "MMM TAKO SUSHI" whenever the Kraken came on. *g*
Also, she bombarded me with awesome funny Canadian music, and I have convinced her she needs to see due South. Because EVERYONE needs to see due South, particularly if they're fond of Canada. But even if they're not. Because due South rocks.
We did ACTUALLY get some writing done after all that, for the record. Although I think
_leareth is still inordinately frustrated at Subaru. XD But I did some restructuring of my grand plan for Boyband!X, realised it's even longer than previously feared, and said "fuck it all" and cut a few of the chapters in half so they were more reasonable lengths. Meaning I am actually right near the end of the current chapter, where before I was only about halfway through. This is probably sensible, since the chapter is already 8000 words long and I haven't QUITE finished it, which could conceivably take another 2000 words all things considered.
I'm hoping to get it done within the next week, though, uni notwithstanding.
Anyway, since I don't want to talk about uni or the misery and pain of having finally started trying to catch up (I have finished week 4. of ADMIN. I have 3 weeks of Admin and 4 weeks of Corps to go. URGH.), I think I'll finish this entry here. I don't want to jinx it-- recently I've been writing too many half-finished entries that never get posted, so I'm hitting post RIGHT NOW. XD

Date: 2007-04-21 03:02 am (UTC)Good luck with your studying and all. (I've got a fair amount of catching up to do too - there's so much still left to be read...but that's fairly normal, I suppose. The day may never come when I've had time to read all the relevant material).
