Went to a 21st birthday party tonight. Costume party! too sleepy for explanations. Went as Alice in Wonderland; [livejournal.com profile] _leareth made my dress in 6 hours with no pattern because she is a worker of miracles. Also I dyed my hair and am suffering a temporary lack of liquidity, but that's okay, because it looks good.

Fahye went as the Queen of Hearts in Leareth's adapted rose bride costume, and Leareth herself went as the white rabbit. On a side note, Adrian (whose party it was) was dressed as Brian Burke. It's an Australian political joke which I'm too tired to explain right now (see above) but you could google it. Or you could ask and maybe I'll explain later.

Below for photos!

Me as Alice, taken by [livejournal.com profile] _leareth:

And taken by my mum:

Face-shot:

[livejournal.com profile] fahye as Queen of Hearts, [livejournal.com profile] _leareth as the white rabbit, me in the front, and the birthday boy as Brian Burke.

Yeah, uh, this photo kind of messed up because it was MEANT to be normal, with everyone still and smiling and looking at the camera, and also, Ebony was not meant to be in it. I flicked my hair at the wrong time, Fahye stared at me, and Ebony ran into the shoot. Ironically she's the only one really looking at the camera. XD

Shot of Fahye as the Queen, looking regal and haughty and more dignified than the real Queen of Hearts ever did.

The three of us together. That's my console stuff in the background. My computer is on the side of the room that can't be seen.

Obligatory photo with dog! Seriously, there is always a photo with Ebony. And she seems to expect it, too-- she kept running up to our feet wagging her tail during the photos while Fahye was like "ARGH NOT THE SKIRT!" XD Anyway, with Ebony I look more like Dorothy with Toto, which brought to notice the versatility of this costume. (How many girls wear blue dresses like this? there's Wendy from Peter Pan, too.)

And my personal favourite, evil!Alice. Came about after a discussion about American McGee's Alice. Adrian found me the evillest-looking knife he could, and I have to say, it's a pretty damn evil knife.

Thank you! ♥ I was really amazed at how good an Alice costume [livejournal.com profile] _leareth was able to make in one night. It was kind of like a miracle.

The evil photo does look kind of satanic, huh. XD

I know, I really like the lighter hair! Usually I only get a half-head of foils, but this time I got a full head and she put in toner too. It kind of cost the earth but it looks great.

*goooooooos*

[livejournal.com profile] fahye linked to this - you're probably going to hate me for saying it but there's something of René Zellweger about you.
