OH MY GOD WHAT.
Sep. 29th, 2007 08:33 pmYou people may recall that, just over a week ago, there was a post FILLED WITH CRAZY and like, 5 edits about the essay I was writing. The essay that I was, in fact, still writing at 6 in the morning. The law essay. Yeah, THAT essay. I made pancakes. It was a very special experience, and I don't mean that in a good way.
Well, anyway. That essay was worth 40% non-redeemable. It was about Google. I thought it was quite good, but I'd had two hours sleep, so what the fuck did I know, really? Whichever way, I wasn't expecting to find out for a few weeks how I did and I tried to forget about it, as you do.
However. HOWEVER. I ran into one of my friends in Civic today, and she told me that our lecturer had emailed her comments on her essay to her uni email. Wtf? said I, that was quick. And emailing, that's unusual. But I checked my email and discovered that yes, there was indeed an email from my IP lecturer. Oh dear, moment of truth.
HAHA I GOT A FUCKING HIGH DISTINCTION. ULTIMATE FUCKING *WIN*. Apparently it was the best essay on the google topic. Like. Ahaha. With all these really flattering comments, and like, *FLAIL*!
This makes up for a week of bizarre sleepiness and all the sulking the running of this course has induced.
Er, in other news, I finally have my provisional licence. It is red and shiny and against like, the laws of the universe, I really like the photo. Seriously, that defies the immutable facts of life or something. Anyway. The shop-front (DMV in america) was an awful lot like purgatory. I was waiting for an hour and a half to be called to the counter, and when I was they couldn't find the medical documents I handed in when I got my learner permit so they were like, "oh, we'll look for them, it could be a while, go have a coffee or something."
Oh-KAY. I'm glad Victoria was with me or this would have sucked beyond ALL BELIEF. We had to refill the parking metre twice (thank god it was Woden, not Civic; parking costs the EARTH in Civic), and I was so bored, but it was nice to have someone there. And I went and had an unhealthy chocolate flavoured ice and cream drink and looked at paper for invitations while we were waiting. They said they'd call on my mobile when they found my documents, but at 4.30 when they still hadn't called I was like "UM." because dude, they close at 5 and I was like NEVER AGAIN so we went back and they were like, oh, they've pulled the batch but haven't checked them yet.
Me: ... Seriously, I can get my doctor to fax it. *had said this in the first place*
Them: Really? Your doctor would do that?
Me: *frustrated* I WORK for my doctor. Trust me, YES.
So this time they finally gave me the phone and the fax number and yes, Julia faxed the stuff for me so I got my licence. I CAN DRIVE YAY. \o/ We have the extra under-25s insurance and everything.
Anyway, I am now going to go and finish catching up on House. Until yesterday I was stalled at the end of Tritter arc, but yesterday I watched 3x12-20 so I'm aaaaalmost caught up.

Date: 2007-09-29 02:29 pm (UTC)Oh, PSHAW, it's still only just over a dollar an hour in Civic, that's cheaper even than Perth (not comparing Sydney because Sydney is just insane by any comparison).
Also, congrats on essay mark! <3

That's correct. Well, either the fabric of the universe is about to collapse, or you are in fact an extraterrestrial masquerading as a human. (*suspicious glance*)
