Oct. 29th, 2007 02:32 amQuick update, because it's 2.30am and also I'm in the middle of a Takaya angst scene.
Currently it is absolutely BUCKETING down with rain, and it rained heavily on Thursday and Friday. This makes me happy, because Australia is in the worst drought on record and apart from all the pragmatic issues, sometimes I just forget what rain is like. I LIKE rain. I like the way it smells, especially. I don't like it so much when I'm walking home, I'm soaked through and it's freezing (true story. actually this has probably happened more than once, but I recall a particular occasion on which this happened to me and I felt like I was going to get frostbite), but otherwise, raaaaaain. <3
In other news I'm almost finished book 10 and Takaya is back in my good graces. It wasn't very hard; all he had to do was start angsting on the inside about Naoe. I'm pretty easy. Plus Naoe said some mean shit to him so they're sort of more back to even.
Also, today, the parents bought a machine which functions as a combined tuner/pvr/div-x player/dvd-recorder. It's kind of fucking awesome. Plus it means I am ONE STEP CLOSER to getting Transact out of my life and getting ADSL2+ into it, because one of dad's objections to ditching transact was the loss of the set top box, and the reason he finally agreed to buy the machine today (aside from mum wanting to be able to fast-forward ads and have a div-x player on both tvs) was that I resubmitted the comparative costing for TransAct and iinet to him and he was swayed by the fact that the ongoing cost was pretty much the same and it was only the setup costs that would make a difference. (Plus iinet has VoIP which is going to be a major factor for when I go to Japan.)
In final bright and happy news, my writing mojo has emerged from underneath a rock, probably with the advent of exams. I didn't study at all today (unless reading Mirage of Blaze counts as studying for my Japanese exam; tenuous, but arguable) but over the last two days I HAVE written about 4000 words on Boyband!X.
I am thinking the next update should be sometime within the following fortnight. Though this is also approximately when my exams finish, so perhaps a little longer, and I don't want to jinx myself by making promises, but it's looking good.
Now! Back to Takaya angst!
ETA: before I forget, I am also smug about the fact that the timetables are up for summer session and I only have 9 days of classes spread over three weeks. VICTORY DANCE.
