tammaiyaI am procrastinating from studying for IP-- which is, uh, TOMORROW-- which is why I've decided to take some of the songs from my Naoe/Takaya playlist on my iPod and discuss. Half-serious at best, some of this are a bit silly. Though I didn't include the "Give It Up" song, so not as silly as it COULD be. XD

Kagetora is always the one toying with Naoe and fucking with his head; now he's Takaya, the tables have turned somewhat. Whenever Takaya tries to fix Naoe he generally just makes it worse.

No, I'm actually serious. REALLY. Cheap Trick may not know this, but they WROTE THIS SONG FOR TAKAYA. And... you guys may not know this yet either, since I haven't bothered typing up that bit of book 11 yet, but basically this IS Kagetora's mindset regarding Naoe. He wants Naoe to want him, to want to possess him, to love him and want to fuck him-- and he wants Naoe to tell him so.

This was somewhat more appropriate before Naoe was REALLY not there. Takaya can't cope with Naoe actually leaving him-- dying, becoming someone else's retainer, whatever-- but Naoe can be pretty explicit and disturbing sometimes. However, two years down the track from Naoe's "death", Takaya has apparently decided he doesn't mind this so much anymore.

Okay, so really the ONLY appropriate lyrics are the ones above, but anyway. Naoe gives Kagetora the validation and love he needs, he gives Takaya the protection and attention, etc, but it's a double-edged sword of crazy. They're always saying horrible things they don't mean to each other (though don't regret, since they say them on purpose), and Takaya-- both in his own right and as Kagetora-- has this enormous abandonment complex and thinks Naoe's going to leave if he relaxes his grip just a little.
