Which brings an end to lugging a pack around Japan with Leareth and my brother. Sadly not as much time to chill and get back into the swing of everyday life as I'd like, since I have a kanji midterm tomorrow and this wretched 4000 character linguistic research essay is due on the second of February and I'm kind of fucked for it, but ce la vie. Leareth is on her way back to Australia, but we went out for a last hurrah last night with Mari-- the first time I'd seen her in about 10 months, since she flew to Japan around the same time I went home to Australia for Christmas-- after I got back from Nagano and snow monkeys.

We went to Nakano Sun Plaza, which allowed Leareth and I to cross off our last Kekkai and was totally fangeek awesome to delightful boot. There was an ENORMOUS Mandarake, like, floors big segmented into different stores for figurines and yaoi doujin and etc. It was really bad for us and sorely tested all our willpowers, although I was the only one weak enough to actually cave and buy anything. (Look, it wasn't MY fault they had an ENTIRE BOOKCASE of Mirage. Leareth shouldn't have pointed it out to me. T____T So I ended up with four Mirage books and two Abyss.) Then we went and had a nice sushi dinner and did an hour and a half of karaoke, which was excellent fun. Leareth and I made sure to sing three of the songs from Boyband!X for the LOLs, and also just because 90s pop makes for great karaoke, and there was also generally Eva, Cowboy Bebop and other Yoko Kanno, Arashi, Utada Hikaru... etc. It was a great night out, we had a lot of fun. It was midnight when I got back to my dorm, which was pretty late given I'd travelled in from another prefecture on the back of 2 weeks around Japan with a really big backpack and a fair hike through the monkey park that morning, but it was well worth it.

:D

And now I can FINALLY offload the photos from my camera, which I spent over half the trip culling because I kept running out of memory with no spare memory stick or way to get them safely off the card. Hooray!

It's also pretty spectacular to be able to do some laundry. Aaaaah.
