Things:

* Still runnning around doing sidequests in FFXII. There can always be more optional bosses/dungeons/whatever, apparently.

* Classes start Monday; I have Japanese-English Translation at 9am. Given that yesterday I went to bed at 7.30am and had to struggle to arise before 3pm, this is... concerning.

* Speaking of classes, mother and I have now swapped sides on the debate and she's the one telling ME "you can't do six hours of class in a row! Just do three subjects!" ... oh how things change. I think she's probably right, though, much as this is going to cause me more irritation in final year.

* Lately whenever it comes to scheduling I kind of want to punch ANU in the face, if it had one. Aside from the whole fourth subject thing, I'm going to have to do something about my work shift because I've managed to get an Equity lecture scheduled from 4-5 Thursdays and I start work 5pm on the other side of town. Sadly, I do not have a time-turner or the ability to be in two places at once. I LIKE my Thursday shift; I know the regular patients who come on that day. I don't WANT to change. *sulk* And I haven't sorted anything out yet so at least for this week I'm going to have to skip out of class early.

* Went out to do some electronics shopping tonight. Almost bought guitar hero because it was on sale, but then logic reasserted itself-- or really, my natural reluctance to commit, because generally when it comes to, well, anything, I'm very indecisive, and the status quo isn't really a DECISION, per se. But I didn't know whether to buy it for PS2 or Xbox 360, or which one to get, or if it'd be better value to leave it and get the full band set... but where would I KEEP it all? Particularly given the current disaster that is my lack of storage.

I did, however, buy myself a ONE TERABYTE external harddrive. I love it. Oh my god. The shiny. *________*

* Speaking of the disaster of my lack of storage, at the moment my room is in the process of total overhaul, because the only way I'm able to deal with everything is to totally rearrange it and order it and structure it and SORT IT ALL FUCKING OUT. Which means that, as I said to [livejournal.com profile] _leareth, currently it is not simply messy; currently it is in the state of pure carnage that is a necessary part of the process towards reasserting order to chaos. To elaborate, I have pulled every single item of clothing I owned out of my wardrobe and dumped them in categorised piles all over my room. I have a LOT of clothing, accumulated over years of a shopaholic mother and an aunt and sister who give me handmedowns and my own hoarding tendencies. I did a cull a while before I went to Japan, but I've just undertaken a somewhat more vicious one. So there's a garbage bag full of clothes I'm giving to charity... and also, piles and piles of clothes all over my room, because I haven't cleaned them up yet. There are also piles of books that have never had a home on my desk, but they won't be sorted out until the clothes are back in the wardrobe (in a way that assuages my OCD and need to assert control, a tendency that is constantly at war with my natural messiness and ends in my flipping between extremes-- when I clean it it must be PERFECT, hence often it gets to catastrophic levels of mess before I do clean it), at which time I will pull everything off my shelves and out of my drawers and from my computer desk out the other end of the house and there'll be another huge mess.

You only WISH your cleaning method was as awesome as mine! ... orz

* Note to self, go buy law texts and do preliminary reading.

* Meanwhile: Star Trek Big Bang fic is 6300 words and counting. Oh, how it is counting. I am less than halfway through the first chapter. Of about four chapters. Of what was going to be three parts, but is now going to be three separate fics because Part I will stand by itself and there's no way in hell the whole thing is going to be done by mid-September. I think I might've said that already last post? Whatev. Also, apparently I'm a horrible person, because all three of my betas keep responding to it with variants upon, "Poor wee!Kirk. I mean, I like it, but. D:" ... who'm I kidding, I KNOW I'm an awful person. D:

EB's doing the whole Guitar Hero band set for $199 for all consoles; I'd get it on Xbox 360 rather than PS2 as you open up the possibility of using downloadable content as well. Not sure how it works with your Japanese 360 though. Still, $199 is the best price for it around town. You should also be able to find World Tour + Guitar and Metallica + Guitar bundles at EB for $99, too.

Funny enough, I bought myself a 1TB HDD yesterday too! :p I'm transferring 120gb of anime from one USB external HDD to the other and it's painfull slow @.@; Looking at getting either a Firewire or an eSata option *nodnod*.

I am annoyed about the Translation lecture being there FIRST THING on a MONDAY MORNING!!! That is so annoying given I don't have any other classes for the rest of the day! I will have work this coming Monday from 12PM though ^^;

We should hang out randomly if we have an opportunity soon. Mainly to have our HDDs make sweet love to each other and share goodies. <3

Yeah, I did check out EB. JBs and Dick Smith had the guitar-only version for cheaper, but the whole band deal EB had was the best overall value. I wasn't really sure I could justify it, though. OR find a place to keep everything...

I am less annoyed about that than I could be... I think I'm more annoyed about having so many late afternoon classes again, especially after last semester. Despite not being a morning person I find late afternoon classes the most obnoxious. ugh.

Yes! I've still got a lot of transferring to do and three computers to do it from, which will engage my insane need to cataglogue and sort in to sub-folders, but definitely. ♥

I found yesterday's 9AM lecture worked really well for me... If I didn't have work :p I could have gone home and done the Translation homework and have the rest of the day to potter around and do other things around the house while I was still awake and, more importantly, ALIVE. Now I'm back to feeling like a tired sack of crap.

I don't like having classes smack bang in the middle of the day where I'll be spending the morning getting ready for it and then the afternoon getting home. Doesn't help that I'm going to bike-ride into uni and back, which will eat up more time, but that's a further attempt to kick the 'tired sack of crap' feeling out of my arse.

Like I keep on screaming at the sky, BRING ON SPRING! It's really hard to be motivated in Winter :/

What do you possibly have that could fill up a terabyte? o___o

Weeeelllllll....nothing YET. I could fill up half of it just transferring stuff from my other computers, though. I hate deleting things, even if I burn them, because I'm paranoid I'll lose the disc or it'll get scratched. XD; Also I hate burning things because my burner is old and doesn't work. So I've been suffering the problem of not being able to acquire anything new much because my computers were full. I might not be able to fill a terabyte immediately, but that's the appeal! All that space, no more stressing out about finding things to delete! *_____*

I personally have about 650gb of anime, movies and TV shows, 50gb of music and 140gb worth of video game stuff (not counting what's on my Wii's 320gb HDD, my PS2's 320gb HDD, my DS's 8gb memory card and my PSP's 16gb memory stick).

I still have around 750gb to play with, including what's left over on my laptop, my 1tb external hdd and my 500gb external hdd. I am suspecting I'll need more by the end of the year, though.

You should really ask my mate who has 7 1tb hdd's and is whinging that he needs a couple more 1tb hdd's :p

You think your mother is right? *boggles*

I think my bedroom may rival yours for mess, even if it lacks method. I am slowly cleaning/packing stuff/playing the biggest game of match the CD to the right CD case ever. I figure by the time I eventually finish, I should hopefully have somewhere to move to. It's amazing what can be found in the bottom layers, there's stuff I haven't seen in 3 years.

Where are you working at now?
