tammaiyaSo finals are finally upon me! I've even been compelled to make a check-list of them, because there are so many assignments with varying due dates that there's a chance of getting muddled. Plus, it makes me feel better when I can cross them off.
The current situation:
1. Japanese presentation on the Sengoku Jidai (civil war period), Thursday 29/10
2. Japanese-English final translation, by Wednesday 4/11: I thought it was done but it needs fixing in parts. At least the first draft is done.
3. English-Japanese final translation, by Thursday 5/11: I've started it. It's hard, because it's a Henry Lawson short story, and for those who don't know he's a really, REALLY Australian writer from about the late 19th, early 20th C. The story is about a swagman. It uses words like "the traveller up-ended his bluey against his knee [...]" and "fuzzy, blucher boots". orz
4. Family law assignment, by Thursday 5/11: afjskdlfsd this is such wank. Whatever, it's only worth 15% and I'm looking at a credit at best in this course anyway.
5. Japanese history final, by Monday 9/11: can't do anything about this yet, I don't get it until this coming Monday.
6. Equity final exam, afternoon Thursday 12/11: I need to do some hardcore study for this. Preferably starting this Tuesday, because I have to go over the entire course, do a summary and read all the cases I haven't read, keeping in mind my inability to buckle down without wandering off to procrastinate for hours at a time. It will depend on the status of the assignments, though, because I can multitask, but I can't effectively switch my focus from studying for a major exam and working on an assignment. I like to keep them separate where possible.
7. Japanese history essay: Should've written this ages ago. Theoretically it was due ages ago, but our sensei is really kind about deadlines. However, now I have this Japanese essay I haven't written to do by the end of the finals period... I guess I'll write it after Equity is over.
8. Japanese history translations x2: This was also due during the semester and is now due by the end of finals. In my defence, I and two others from our 6 person class thought it was choose 1 of 3, not do all three. orz
Then, when that's all over, we have to get our memorandum for the Japanese arbitration competition done by the 23rd of November. To put it in context, it's a legal submission detailing our entire case (in japanese). And the arbitration itself lasts 4 hours, if that gives you an idea of how much there is to said case. So I foresee a lot of long days and probably nights in my near future as we slave over first the legal research and then second the 20+ page memorandum outlining our arguments. orz NO REST FOR THE WICKED.
Totally changing the subject, my hair is still purple, and Australian weather is evil as usual. One day the maximum is 12, the next day it's up near 30. Today was one of the up near 30 days. It was very hot. ugh.
I kind of want to make game blogs for the many copious amounts of games I've been playing, but writing that much tires me when I'm stressed. I also need to finish big bang by the 17th. GANBARE, SELF, YOU CAN DO IT.
To end this entry on a more amusing note, I showed Mari KH 358/2 Days the other day. Now, I had the vague feeling when I started the game that Roxas's voice was lower than I remembered, but there's not a lot of voice acting and it's been about 3 years since I played KH2 or something so I decided I was imagining it or it was DS speakers or something and went along with it. Mari on the other hand is an expert in all things seiyuu, and she was like, no, it's definitely different, the original Roxas sounded like a girl!
We checked the PS2. Indeed, Roxas's voice was higher. What was going on? Had Square changed the VA for some reason? They'd even redubbed the scenes that were in KH2 as flashbacks.
So then we checked the wiki. It was the same guy... just now he was 18 or 19, instead of 15.
HAHAHAHAHAHA HIS VOICE BROKE. apparently Square did not see that coming? XDDDDD
