Nov. 18th, 2009 11:05 pmYou guys, I am SUPERWOMAN.
Or that's how it feels. Or how it WOULD feel, if I was not half-dead of tired. Instead it feels more like I am simply expected to be superwoman. *shifty*
Here is my... hm. Week. Yes. Hell started before then, of course, but I've already whinged about the copious amount of assignments and studying for my Equity exam, so let's just start with last Thursday.
Thursday: Spend morning on last minute preps for exam. Spend three hours in exam, bust hand.
Friday: Go over to Mari's. LAST DAY OF FREEDOM. Spend evening on Japanese history translations and research assistant work for lecturer, awake until dawn.
Saturday: More Japanese history. Mad working on Big Bang. Repeat awake until dawn.
Sunday: More Big Bang. Finish Big Bang. VICTORY!!!! But still awake until dawn.
Monday: Working on arbitration problem, type up summary of issues and relevant law. Go out for dinner with schoolfriends, as on Tuesday Victoria flew off to SE Asia to travel for 3 months. Out until 1. Awake until... dawn...
Tuesday: Working on Japanese essay. Fucking essay. Hatred in depths of soul. Go away for meeting with team members, work on arbitration problem. Come back, write essay. Brief break to watch NCIS, then more essay. Posting of Big Bang. More essay. Yet more essay. I hate writers' block. Essay finally finished at FIVE IN THE MORNING. (But still needs editing.)
Finally, today, which really took the cake.
8am: Wake up. Zombie groan. 3 hours sleep. WHY IS THIS MY LIFE.
9am-11am: At uni, working on problem.
11am-1.30pm:
- Pick up family law assignment (got 75, may be saved from a Pass after all. Why did I get by far the best mark for the assignment I put by far the least work into??)
- Drive home, sort out employment contract for research assistant thing, print off letters for Mayuka's old primary schools, purchase JR East rail pass, have lunch
- Drive to Garran, visit one primary school with letter from Mayuka's dad (long story; basically she was my student in Japan and she used to live in Canberra and now needs letters from her old schools to apply for middle school in Tokyo), go to work to drop off key, discover that I DO have a job in the new merged practice and that training is, in fact, TOMORROW, visit the second primary school
1.30pm-8pm: At uni, poring over the Japanese-language version of the facts and UNIDROIT principles of commercial transactions and writing up arguments, also in Japanese
and then I went home. and emailed people in Japan. and was tired. and am still tired. but I don't feel like I can sleep just yet, so I may watch Gossip Girl and then try. I should be doing research work, but the thought makes my brain weep. As does the thought of getting up for a meeting at 8.45 tomorrow morning, working until 1.30, going to training from 2.30-5.30, and then going back to uni.
orz
We're pulling an all-day-all-nighter on Friday. I miss free time. And sleep. I miss sleep. *wistful*
Meanwhile, have a Star Trek Big Bang fic! it's amazing, I have actually posted a fic. And hopefully will post more fics. I've been thinking about the fics from the pairing meme. When I have a life again and do not feel terminally tired, I will write them. The meme is still open, on that note.
PS: I know I've referred to it on numerous occasions, but I don't know if I've actually made a proper explanation. I am going to Japan on the 30th of November, flying back on the evening of the 3rd. The first week will be spent with my team prepping for the comp/at the comp. After that mostly I'll be staying with friends in Tokyo, but having procured myself a JR East rail pass, there'll also be a trip to Niigata (to see a former student and friend) and to Sendai, cause I just wanna see Sendai and there's a bunch of day trips I can do from there.
youkofujima, wanna hang out?
