Sadly, my holidays are almost over and I start back at classes on Monday. I even have my textbooks (although I haven't cracked any of them open yet). Mum is forcing me to get up an hour earlier every day because I have Litigation at 9am first day. Shudder.

Despite having had a full summer holiday this time, still not overly motivated. Such is sixth-year-itis.

I was supposed to go to Sydney this weekend for a music festival. I bought the ticket months ago, but a bunch of factors are combining to make me decide not to go. Firstly, the main act I wanted to see, My Chemical Romance, had to cancel after something went wrong with Gerard's throat. Secondly, even already having the ticket it costs money to go to Sydney and feed myself while I'm there and stuff and I am currently flat broke. Also, the timing is pretty crap - not only would I have to miss my first lecture, I just don't really feel motivated this close to the end of my holidays. Plus I have a bunch of other stuff I need to do - work, readings, etc. But what a waste of $160 odd. I shouldn't let my brother talk me into these things.

Meanwhile, I still haven't found a proper steady job, which is depressing. I have two translation jobs, but one of them is large-scale and won't pay until next year. The other one is the sake documentary I'm working on now; I'm about 2/3 done and I'll get paid a few hundred when I'm done, which will be nice, but sadly will be chewed up immediately by my car rego or insurance or whatever that letter was about. I miss having money and a regular job.

On the fannish front, there has been a break in the usual constant stream of gaming for obsessing over One Piece. I blew through all currently existing chapters in about two weeks and then had to sit on my hands for the two chapters that came out afterwards, and I've also made some fair headway into the anime. Becky and I are shamelessly encouraging each other by talking for hours on AIM in ridiculous detail about everything. We've worked out a system; I'm too lazy for proper blogging right now, so she makes the ridiculously long posts and I write the ridiculous fanfic. So in other words, what she said.

Speaking of fanfic, I feel somewhat guilty for not working on things I'm MEANT to be working on, but at least there are two OP fics posted and one just about ready to be. It's nice to be productive again.

Now if only I could be bothered to make icons.

Yep~ although it's another one about ridiculous baby photos. Like a prequel to the last one. XD There will eventually be more Zoro/Sanji, though!

I can relate to the disappointment felt at My Chem not coming to Soundwave. I bought tickets for Sydney Soundwave just to see them and I'm from New Zealand so the flights were heaps more on top of that.
Just got back from Australia today after deciding to man up and go anyway, because maybe that's what they would have wanted.
It was sad to see Jimmy Eat World playing where My Chem should have been. Really unfair.
There was no shade and no free water at the festival and I only saw 2 bands I thought were great quality. Plus, we didn't get to see many bands because it was too hot to move most of the time. So overall pretty disappointed.
I guess you didn't really miss much.
Maybe their "making it up to us" tour will be bigger and better than they would have been at Soundwave anyway.
