Mar. 13th, 2010 05:10 pmSo on the one hand, I am a sheep. However, on the other hand, usually I'm too lazy to do memes, especially ones that involve this much effort. But it seemed like fun, and I was enjoying perving on other people's, so I decided it was only fair.
Beware: chaos! And in fact this has slightly less open than usual because I knocked my battery out yesterday and was subjected to a forcible reboot. XD; (Although Firefox saves the tabs automatically.)
So the meme:
1. Stop what you're doing. Print Screen.
2. Print screen your current desktop.
3. If you have Photoshop open, print screen.
4. If you have a music player open, print screen.
5. Pick a folder, open it, print screen.
I kind of just printed screens of the things I felt like, though.

This browser windows. I always have Facebook and my friends page open somewhere. There are three extra LJ pages open - one is a Flynn/Yuri fanfic, one is me checking what my tags actually are, and one is my game blog, in an attempt to guilt myself into updating. There is also three Japanese One Piece sites, one for recs, one of Zoro/Sanji art, and one with Zoro/Sanji fics.

Browser window number TWO! Currently viewing tab is Dengeki Online, which is a weekly Japanese gaming magazine but also has an online news stream which updates daily. Gmail is also open. Lately, so is the One Piece wiki. Other tabs are the Square Enix calendars, the outline for my Syntax course... oh hey, I have that open in the third browser too, and the Syntax readings, whoops...a Japanese FAQ site with a synth data list for ToV, and a bunch of pixiv tabs that are Becky's fault and are open until I remember to save the art to my computer.

Uh... yes, there's a third window. Currently open on the Tales Channel official website on the Namco Bandai site. Also has Yahoo.jp's dictionary, the Square Enix site, my in progress online application to DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade), more pixiv, mangahelpers (on one of the OP data books), a rom site, the Tales series calendars, and (apparently uncessarily)... my Syntax outline and readings. *closes those tabs*

Moving on from my excess of firefox windows: microsoft word. Often the lecture notes for at least one subject open, but because of the battery thing, not right now. Instead it has the two connected Tierkries WiPs, which are currently called "yandere!Meruvis" and "Meruvis is a creeper" ... yeah.

Folders. I didn't so much choose a folder as just take the one that was already open, i.e. my Syntax folder. To give more of an idea, though, I opened the "fiction" folder in the side bar so you can see my many, many subfolders. Or actually you can't, because there are so many that they trail off screen. To be precise, there are 65 subfolders. Some of the subfolders have subfolders. But for true anal retentiveness, you should see my music folder.

CHECK OUT SUBFOLDER HELL. My video, gaming and art folders are of a similar nature. :|b

Other windows I have open. Namely my JWPCE Japanese dictionary (currently open because I needed to check a word in the fic I'm reading) and a PDF of my unit outline for Syntax. (There's a reason for all the syntax, I needed to find out what all my reading was and print it so I could actually do it in time for the assignment due on Thursday). In the windows bar, you can also see paint - which is usually never open, and is only open now for the purpose of the screencaps - and AIM, in which I usually have a number of chats open at the time. There are a number of people I talk to all the time and I leave the windows open until the computer restarts or shuts down instead of hibernating. Gtalk is also minimised.

Finally: the desktop itself. I don't actually like clutter, but a number of things saved automatically there - like for some reason AIM's downloads go there - and I've been too lazy to clean them up. To be honest I barely ever SEE my desktop because I have so many godamn windows open all the time. XD; The background is an official wallpaper from Suikoden Tierkreis. I was thinking of changing it, but now I'm working on my WiPs again, I probably won't. Oh well.
There's no music window because everything is on my ipod and it slows the computer down otherwise.
SO IN CONCLUSION, like my RL environment, my cyber environment is filled with clutter, insanity and procrastination and is in a constant state of meaning and wanting to clean things up, but whenever I do it it never lasts long. XD;;;
