So I am feeling a little tender and sorry for myself, having had surgery to remove my wisdom teeth this morning. It's not as bad as it could be, but it's not exactly pleasant, either. My tongue has had pins & needles for hours, and I still can't feel my lower lip or chin. I'm afraid I'll bite my lip off by accident or something. :( Also, my face is very puffy, like a chipmunk, and my cheeks ache, although this is actually less annoying than the bits of my face I can't feel. It's probably better than feeling them, at least in parts, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of this whole local anaesthetic bizzo. (The general anaesthetic was kind amazing, though. I was out in less than a minute! As an insomniac, I was quite impressed. Hilariously, when I woke up I could only remember Japanese for a few minutes; I really had to struggle to find English to answer the nurses when they spoke to me. So bizarre.

................ oh I take back what I said about the aching, suddenly it hurts a lot and it's at least an hour until I can have more drugs, ow ow OW.

Was going to update about Sydney but it's going to have to wait until I'm less busy feeling sorry for myself. *slinks off to eat an iceblock, slap on an icepack and read more MaruMa*

Oooh, I feel for you, that was how things were when I had all four of mine taken out. *hugs* It will go away eventually, but it's going to hurt like a bitch until it does!

I've had drugs so I feel better now - but I have discovered it is possible to both ache and be numb! Who'd have figured? most sore bit is the front of my mouth where they didn't even remove anything. ???? feels like a beesting. :(

When I had my wisdom teeth out, I was in pure agony. It doesn't help that I had like a BUTCHER or something. YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO FEEL CRAPPY.

BTW, guess what my current job is? Working at a university's "Asian Law" graduate program! LL.M.s and Ph.D. students... my supervisor is Japanese.
