For my own good, because I've been whining about the fact that I don't ever participate in fandom anymore and when I DO write, it is multi thousand word epic monsters that I don't finish before my willpower sputters out and I go back to my usual passive consumption of stuff. Whooooo. o/

I don't know how long it has been since I last updated, mostly because I haven't checked and don't want to know because it is probably about a year and a half which is both terrifying and terrible, but to summarise:

* Still a lawyer

* Still working for the same firm - although we recently underwent a slight name change as a result of a merger

* Still not really writing much (in case that wasn't obvious) and not finishing things when I DO write. I am a fail writer. On the bright side this has improved ever so slightly since getting a keyboard case for my ipad.

* Been reading a lot of books - paranormal romance, YA fantasy, etc - which is in fact something of a change and part of the reason I am not around as much lately. My recreational reading slowed to a stop sometime during uni and has taken until the last year or so to revive. I think a key part of this was the realisation that I no longer have the patience for like, real literature. I already read a lot of material that requires me to stress my brain at work, so in my free time I may as well pander to my lowest common denominator enjoyments in life and read cliche werewolf romance books.

* Also been reading fanfic across various fandoms, which is less of a change.

* Yes, those fandoms include Teen Wolf. As stated above I fully acknowledge my trashy reading habits and fandom habits but don't even care. I DO WHAT I WANT, THOR!!!!

* Lego Batman 2 also has been making me happy. Bless their little lego faces.

* Also I've been watching Elementary. To quote my supplier/friend Tai: HIS FAAAAACE!!

In conclusion, not all that much has changed. Maybe this is why I never update anymore...

On a final note I spent April in Japan with Mari. It was lovely, even though I missed the best of the cherry blossoms. Nice to catch up with people, and also got to see some new places (like Yakushima - the southern tropical island of primeval rainforest where Princess Mononoke was set). Also, go shopping. Ahhh Japan. Next year contemplating going to either US or Europe for the first time.

Anyone interested in meeting up if I do one or the other? If I do US I expect to head NY-wards to meet up with RL friends, but other parts of US may be negotiable.
