Discworld character (also known as Big Mad Drongo)... only book I can place him in at the moment is Soul Music, but I think he's also in Hogfather. The code comes into things because we've stumbled across a semi-organized Discworld RPG. Still haven't seen a trace of a connecting community.
Hey Mr./Mrs./Miss Hollow ;) It's actually entirely un-organized, and there is no community; I just started a diary for Ponder one day as a joke (because he mentions in Science of Discworld 2 that he has one in which he writes completely mundane things like "the elves were frightening"). The next thing I know, the Patrician, Susan, Drumknott, and Leonard have journals too. And now there's an awesome Mr. Tuglebend. And I actually only know who the Patrician and Victor are, no idea on the others. But I do think it's terribly wonderful, and far more fun than it should be.
Ohhhh. (See, the first thing I do when I find that sort of thing is look for a common factor. But completely unorganized makes tons more sense, given the fandom in question.)
