things that help me when i'm doing a reading:

looking at the pictures on the cards. that way you're not using them to look into the future, but using them as a tool for your subconscious to speak directly to you, through your interpretation of the pictures.

Yeah, that's supposed to work very well. Sadly, I am without a real tarot deck as of yet- hopefully I'll be able to get one tomorrow, if all goes well.
