Just a general update.
Oct. 18th, 2003 08:56 pmBecause I haven't been doing so as much, recently.
Anyway.
Friday, went out to dinner with family and family friends (er, again) and got mildly drunk on good wine. That sums up the interesting part of Friday, really.
Today, finished re-reading the Guards Trilogy, and would just like to say... VIMES/VETINARI! *squeal* Ah, I'm such a fangirl. *ahem*
Also wrote most of my English oral, much to my own smugness. I've done the whole thing aside from the bit about The Tempest, and I need to look up some stuff first.
*idly* It's cool having a book that's almost 90 years old. It's a very useful reference, too.
Can't go to PotC with Victoria et al, as mum says 3 times is too many and also Dad has gone to Sydney as of today until Monday, therefore no one would be available to drive me. And I'm not allowed to catch buses given it's at six.
My room smells of burnt moth, because our house is infested with Beugon (or however you spell it) moths. And one flew into my lamp repeatedly until it burned, stupid thing.
Have started reading the latest Discworld book, by the name of Monstrous Regiment. While it is mostly about an otherwise unconnected character (think, say, Small Gods. Or Pyramids), it DOES have Vimes in it. YAY. And it has someone who has been told Vimes is the second most powerful man in AM. *evil giggle*
On that subject, I would just like to say that Maladict is damned cool and that there has been an article written by William de Worde. Thought that may be of interest to Frar.
Rugby-wise, the Wallabies creamed Romania 90-8. Sadly, Japan got crushed by France, which while not unexpected is quite depressing. The score was only 16-20, at half time, and France are one of the best teams! It was *19-20*, at one point! Alas.
I should go do Japanese study. Or look up stuff about the Tempest. I may, but more probably I shall go read more MR. Off I go, then.
